I've looked in the shop manual for a rating on the alternator. All the specs are voltage outputs or resistance checks, no mention of amps. But in the owners manual is bulb wattage chart. If all lights were on the maximum load postion, would = about 140 watts/14 v = 10 amps + charging the battery. Fuse is 20 amps so it seems like your 3 amp vest should work OK. may be marginal when turn lights, stop light and high beam is on espically at idle. Max
